Welcome to the Gospel One Psalm At a Time, our small group study for the Winter and Spring. We will be using Paul David Tripp's "Book at Time" material for our study. Here's the plan:
After the first 2 week introductory sessions, we will begin studying 3 psalms a week for 15 weeks. Throughout the week prior to your group's meeting, take some time to:
1) Prayerfully read and study the week's Psalms;
2) Watch the short videos that will be posted here on our website - they are also available on PDT's Youtube channel; and
3) Answer the questions in preparation for a conversation in your small group.
It's a simply ryhthm...
First Psalm: Pray - Read - Watch - Answer - Pray.
Second Psalm: Pray - Read - Watch - Answer - Pray.
Third Psalm: Pray - Read - Watch - Answer - Pray.
The only materials you will need are your Bible, a notebook, and the study guide (we will make these available starting January 19. There will be digital options available for you as well if that is your preference.
My prayer this is a great season of spiritual growth for you and our church as we invest in this together!
All for Jesus!

1. What is one of your favorite Psalms, and why? What are the truths embedded in this favorite Psalm of yours, and how have they meant so much to you during a particular season of life?
2. If you were to write a few stanzas of a song that defined your life today, what would the lyrics be? They don’t have to rhyme, and they don’t need to be put to music, but take some time to think about what your “song” would reveal about your heart and what is most important to you.
1. In what ways might you be taking the miracle of prayer for granted? Do you not pray as often as you should, taking for granted the opportunity to talk with your Heavenly Father and the Creator and Ruler of the Universe? Or, if you do pray frequently, are you at risk of mindlessly and mechanically treating it as a religious routine, taking for granted that each opportunity is a fresh and personal moment of spiritual relationship?
2. When you pray aloud with or in front of others, are you tempted to “show off”? Are you afraid of being honest, withholding what you really believe and what you truly want to communicate with God?
1. In what ways do the wicked around you seem to be prospering and increasing in riches? Who are those in your culture setting their mouths against heaven, and how do they appear to be getting away with it? Are you tempted to behave like them to get ahead? Are you jealous of the “blessings” that they are receiving for their behavior?
2. How have you suffered for your faith? What decisions have you made, trying to honor the Lord and his commands, that appear to have negative, painful consequences? How have you responded to your suffering? Have you strayed from a lifestyle of submission and obedience in recent weeks, months, or years because of it?
