Welcome to Church!
We're so glad to have you worship with us this weekend. As we gather, I want to make sure you know how grateful we are to have you worship with us. It's a joy to worship alongside friends and neighbors as we share this journey of faith.
This weekend, we get back into our study from the book of Acts. We are just in the beginning of this unstoppable movement of the Gospel. This week, we find the disciples healing a man on their way to the temple. It happens fast, but there is a lot to learn from the people involved about the things we see and hear.
After the service, take a few minutes to engage friends and neighbors in conversation, or spend some time in prayer. We hope you find our church is not just a place of worship but a community of support and love.
Thank you for being a part of our family today, and may our worship together this weekend be a source of inspiration, reflection, and connection in your relationship with Jesus. If you have any questions or want to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. My office telephone is 410-639-2144, or just shoot me an email.
Richest Blessings!

Closing Worship Benediction
Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -
Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.
I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.
If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Message Text
Acts 6: Seeing and Hearing
Acts 3:1–10
Learning from Peter and John:
The Spirit was using people who were doing the RIGHT things at the RIGHT time.
Acts 3:1 NIV
One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon.
The Spirit was using people who were willing to be INTERRUPTED.
Acts 3:4 NIV
Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!”
The Spirit was using people who were paying ATTENTION to the NEEDS of others.
Acts 3:4 NIV
Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!”
The Spirit was using people who were willing to give what THEY HAD.
Acts 3:6 NIV
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
The Spirit was using people who were willing to promote GOD, not THEMSELVES.
Acts 3:6–12 NIV
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. While the man held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?
Learning from the Lame Man
Instead of asking God to bless OUR AGENDA, let’s start praying for HIS AGENDA.
Acts 3:3–5 NIV
When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
Learning from Jesus:
There’s power in HIS NAME.
Acts 3:6–7 NIV
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.
Take it Home:
In what ways do you identify with the man born unable to walk? How could you step out in faith right now and ask others to pray for you?
Peter and John embody a “ministry of seeing” that dignifies and humanizes the man. In what ways do you struggle to see people in need?
Thinking of your relationship with God, are you like the man at the beginning of the passage - Searching, wounded, and in need? Or are you more like the man at the end of the passage— walking, jumping, and praising God? Perhaps you identify with the community of people who placed this man at the temple gate each day. How are you going to respond to God’s prompting today?
