November 17th Worship Program

Welcome to Church!

We are happy to have you with us today. Whether this is your first visit or you’ve been with us for years, we are excited to share this special time with you.

Today, as we open God’s Word together, we’ll explore how God can transform our greatest challenges into opportunities for His glory. Drawing from Acts 23:11, we’ll see how the Apostle Paul’s trials became a platform for God’s work in and through him. Whatever obstacles you may be facing, I invite you to consider how God’s grace and purpose might reframe them into opportunities for growth, witness, and impact. May today’s message encourage you to trust God’s presence in your life and step forward in faith.

Our worship services are a cornerstone of our discipleship and our identity as members of the Global Methodist Church. We believe that God invites us into three essential practices:

  • Worship Passionately: Our worship transcends the songs we sing and becomes the way we live for His glory.

  • Love Extravagantly: We are called to emulate Jesus’ boundless, sacrificial love.

  • Witness Boldly: God empowers us to share the incredible things He is doing in and through us.

Living out these practices is central to our calling as His Church.

Thank you for being a part of our family today. My prayer is that our time together will draw us closer to Jesus and inspire us to reflect deeply on His presence in our lives. If you have any questions or wish to discuss your faith, please feel free to reach out. You can contact me directly at 410-639-2144 or email me at the address below.

All for Him!

Next Steps

What you can do for a “next step” of faith.

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident.  Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there.  Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there.  He has a purpose for me being there - Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.  I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Message Notes

Acts 53: Paul's Super Power for Living

Acts 22:22–23:11; Acts 23:11

When faced with opposition, believers can reframe their circumstances as God-given opportunities to share the truth and love of Christ with others.

Paul's Predicament:

Most of life’s battles are won or lost in the mind.

Re-framing—Creating a different way of looking at a situation, person or relationship by changing its meaning.

Lessons to Live Out:

  • Grace and mercy are things we can  share only  after we have  received them .

  • The difference between an  obstacle  and an  opportunity  is found in our  perspective .

  • Courage is a  decision  based on knowing God can work  in any situation .

Reframe your obstacles into opportunities by trusting His grace.

Reading Plan:

We often face circumstances that we cannot change—a job we are forced to keep, a relationship that did not work out, a decision we cannot take back. The stress of life can overwhelm us, and we may not see past the obstacles in our path. In the face of unwanted challenges, we may despair over our lack of control and long for an easier way out. Laurie Short offers a simple but revolutionary idea: change nothing that is around you yet still change everything about your life.
