March 24th Worship Program

Welcome to Church!

This is Palm Sunday weekend and we want you to know how grateful we are that you have joined us.  It's a blessing to worship, pray, and serve alongside friends and neighbors on this special beginning of Holy Week..

After today’s worship, take a few minutes to engage friends and neighbors in conversation, or spend some time in prayer. We hope you find our church and church family is not just a place of worship but a community of support and love.

If you have attended church before, you know every church is unique. A few of the things we hope you will notice about us are first, the priority we give to the Bible, not just in worship, but in all things related to God and our relationship with HIm; also, we are committed to being a blessing, as we seek to represent Christ to our community; and finally we depend on the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us to live out our faith daily. and we need him. We believe each of these are essential to our becoming His church here in Rock Hall.

Thank you for being a part of our church family today. My prayer is that our time together in worship would be a source of inspiration, reflection, and connection in your relationship with Jesus. If you have any questions or want to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. My office telephone is 410-639-2144, or send me an email.

Richest Blessings!

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -

Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.

I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Message Notes

Acts 24: The Chosen

Acts 9:1-18

God’s Unexpected Choices:

‌Privileged Priests

‌Shameful Samaritans

‌An Offensive Foreigner

‌A Sworn Enemy

The Choosing of Saul

Acts 9:1-22

Preparing for the Invitation:

We don’t get to pick our family.

‌Isaiah 64:6 - Romans 3:23 - Matthew 10:2-4 - Jonah 1-4

‌No one is too far gone to join God’s chosen.

‌Acts 8:3 - Acts 9:15 - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

‌The chosen owe others undeserved grace and mercy.

‌Romans 5:10 - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 - Matthew 18:21-35 - Matthew 7:1-2

‌The life of the chosen requires transformed hearts and minds.

‌Romans 12:1-2

Take it Home:

We spoke last week about how we can be intentional about sharing Christ with our one. This week we are challenged to remember that the ones who a ctually respond to God's invitation aren't always the ones we expect.

Read Titus 3:3-7 and 1 Corinthians 1:26-30 how might these help you overcome the hurdles of inviting and welcoming people into a relationship with Jesus?

Renewing our minds involves developing the mind and character of Christ rather than our natural (worldly or humanistic) way of thinking. How do these verses reinforce the idea of becoming more like Christ by renewing our minds?

Romans 8:5-6,

Ephesians 4:22-24,

Colossians 3:7-11
