March 17th Worship Program

Welcome to Church!

As we gather for worship this weekend, I want to make sure you know how grateful we are that you have joined us.  It's a blessing to worship, pray, and serve alongside friends and neighbors.

If you join us in person, when the service is over, I pray you are able to hang around for a few minutes so your friends and neighbors who call our church "home" can say hello. We hope everyone finds our church is more than just a place to worship but a community of friends who love and support one another.

If you have attended church before, you know every church is unique. A few of the things we hope you will notice about us are first, the priority we give to the Bible, not just in worship, but in all things related to God and our relationship with HIm; also, we are committed to being a blessing, as we seek to represent Christ to our community; and finally we depend on the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us to live out our faith daily. and we need him. We believe each of these are essential to our becoming His church here in Rock Hall.

Thank you for being a part of our church family today. My prayer is that our time together in worship would be a source of inspiration, reflection, and connection in your relationship with Jesus. If you have any questions or want to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. My office telephone is 410-639-2144, or send me an email.

Richest Blessings!

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -

Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.

I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Message Notes

Acts 23: The One

Acts 8:26-40

How to change the world?

Acts 8:26-40

Evangelism: Philip style:

Walk with Jesus before I share Jesus.

Look and pray for open doors.

Be willing to leave my comfort zone.

Start where “they” are, not with what "I” know.

Walk alongside and earn an invite in.

Seek to understand, not to be understood.

Show others what Jesus did, not what they must do.

Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone

Take it Home:

We explored that when it comes to impacting others, we start where others are, not with what we know. Because people can’t be argued or forced into the Kingdom, our goal is to walk alongside them with grace and mercy. How might the following passages help us be sensitive as we seek to share the Gospel with people we’re coming alongside?

2 Timothy 2:22-26, 1 John 3:18-20

The Apostle Paul is an example of someone who had great passion for people. In Philippians 1:12-14 and Colossians 4:2-6, we see that even while in prison his desire was to talk with people about Jesus. What do we learn about Paul’s attitude regarding sharing the Gospel from these passages?

Philippians 1:12-14, Colossians 4:2-6

Is there someone in your life you are building an intentional relationship with right now? If so, what is the next step? If not, who could it be?
