Welcome to Church!
We are glad to have you worship with us today. It's a true blessing to worship, pray, and serve with friends and neighbors.
Today, we are continuing to study the book of Acts. In this part of the story, missionaries are beginning to see the fruit of their labor as they spread out into the Gentile world. In the process they experience their first round of real difficulty, and what we see is their response is a lesson for us as God’s message faces opposition today. It’s a reminder to ask ourselves the question: “Are we prepared to do our part in order to see God transform our community?”
Gathering for worship services is an important part of our life as disciples of Jesus as well as a Global Methodist Church. We understand that God invites his people into three discipleship practices. First, to worship passionately, where worship is more than the songs we sing, it’s about the lives we live, for His glory. Second, God calls us to love extravagantly; to love like Jesus who modeled sacrificial love in his life and in his death. Third, God equips us to witness boldly; to tell others about what he has done and is doing in and through his people. We believe living out these three are essential for us as His church here in Rock Hall.
Thank you for being a part of our church family today. My prayer is that our time together in worship would be a source of inspiration, reflection, and connection in your relationship with Jesus. If you have any questions or want to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. My office telephone is 410-639-2144, or send me an email.

Benediction
Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -
Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.
I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.
If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Take Home:
In the message we saw Paul facing both opposition and physical persecution as he faithfully carried out the ministry God called him to. As we think about the possibility of Christians facing more opposition in the future, it’s helpful to take a look at how Jesus responded to those who were indifferent or outright hostile to Him. What do you notice about Jesus’ attitude toward people and His response to them in the following passages? Matthew 9:35-38; Matthew 20:29-34; Matthew 23:37-39; Luke 9:51-56; Luke 19:41-44; John 11:32-36
How might what you learn about Jesus in these passages help you prepare for opposition, know how to respond to those who don’t agree with us and work to share the Gospel with people?
It’s no surprise that it can be challenging to reach out to or accept those who are different or have a belief system contrary to our own. Read 1 Timothy 1:12-16. How does the Apostle Paul’s understanding of his past and what God did for him impact his viewpoint of others?
