July 28th Worship Program

Updated: Jul 28

Welcome to Church!

We are delighted to have you with us today. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a long-time member, we are thrilled to share this time with you.

Today, in our study of the Book of Acts, we will read about Paul’s visit to the city of Thessalonica. Here Paul again is met with a mixed response, while many hear his words and respond in faith, others are stuck with jealousy forming a strange crowd who feels their power and influence slipping away. Let’s talk about how we live when our faith collides with our rulers.

Our worship services are a vital aspect of our life as disciples of Jesus and as members of the Global Methodist Church. We believe God invites His people into three key discipleship practices:

- Worship Passionately: Worship goes beyond the songs we sing; it encompasses the way we live our lives for His glory.

- Love Extravagantly: We are called to love like Jesus, who demonstrated sacrificial love in His life and death.

- Witness Boldly: God empowers us to share what He has done and is doing in and through His people.

We believe living out these practices is essential for us as His church.

Thank you again for being a part of our family today. My prayer is that our time together in worship will inspire you to reflect deeply and connect more closely with Jesus. If you have any questions or wish to discuss your faith journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can contact me directly at my office at 410-639-2144, or send me an email.

All for Him!

Benediction

Life is much more than an accident. Wherever I go, I believe God needs me there. Wherever I am, I trust God has put me there. He has a purpose for me being there -

Christ, alive in me, wants to do something through me, no matter where I am.

I believe this and go in His grace and His love and His power.

If you would like someone to pray with you, please come and meet one of our ministry leaders at the end of the service.

Message Notes

Acts 40: How to Turn the World Upside Down

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. 2 And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.” 4 And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women. 5 But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd. 6 And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also, 7 and Jason has received them, and they are all acting against the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus.” 8 And the people and the city authorities were disturbed when they heard these things. 9 And when they had taken money as security from Jason and the rest, they let them go.
